Discuss the problems that the main character faces within your book. What do those problems look like? Is it an external problem, internal problem, or both? What causes the problem? How is the problem being solved...or is it not? Are other characters apart of the problem? Is this problem getting worse or better as you read?
Please explain yourself as if I have not read the book in no less than EIGHT sentences.
In the book "long way down" there are a whole bunch of problems. One of the major problems is Will is not sure if he is going to kill his brothers murder or not. While he is in the elevator waiting to go all the way down something odd happens to him. One by one each person came in the elevator which he did not recognize at first. Once he realized one person, shawn's friend he realizes he is supposed to be dead. Another person came on the elevator, her name was dani, and Will recognized her from how she got shot & died. One by one each person came on the elevator that was dead & every single one of them had something to say about the gun Will had on him. Eventually Will's dad who passed away before he barely knew him came on the elevator. They gave each other a hug. Suddenly Will's dad snatched the gun from him, and put it up to his head & everyone in the elevator disappeared. Will's dad could not pull the trigger to kill his own son. I think the people coming in the elevator are telling Will not to go out and kill someone, especially if he accidently put the blame on the wrong person. Will does not know how to hide a gun, yet even use one which is a big problem.

In "A Long Way Down", the problem is both internal and external. Shawn, Wills big brother, is shot. Will seeks revenge on the killer which turns out to be Rex, Shawns old friend before he moved to the wrong side of town. The problem starts with the death of Shawn and streams through Will. The story takes place in an elevator where Will, carrying his brothers gun, is on his way to Rex's home. Externally, Rex created the problem by killing Shawn. Internally Will is having thoughts about going through with the rules. He starts to hallucinate about his deceased family and friends as they all ask "What are you gonna do with that?" making him rethink. The problem is supposed to be solved by the "rules". These rules enlist that you get revenge on those who have killed someone you love, and you kill them.
